Halliwell: Three arrested following thefts

Three people have been arrested following thefts in the Halliwell area.

This afternoon, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team attended an address in Astley Bridge in relation to a theft from a car that occurred overnight in Halliwell.

PC Eagleton arrested a 57-year-old man, 57-year-old woman and 40-year-old man on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

The 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of residential burglaries and vehicle interferences in the Halliwell area following a number of reports made to Greater Manchester Police on Friday morning.

He has also been arrested for absconding from prison.

All three remain in police custody for questioning.
